My name is April Tauer and I am an Integrated Services Teacher at Bennett Elementary. I am beginning my 18th year teaching. I taught for 4 years in a residential treatment center before joining the Bennett team 14 years ago! I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University (Go Rams!) and my Master of Arts degree in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado.
My favorite thing about working in education is watching students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. My aim is to offer a safe, supportive, and welcoming place to students so they can learn and feel like valued members of our Bennett community. I believe that by partnering with parents, students, and the community, students will succeed, learning to positively engage socially and academically for success in school and beyond.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially my 2 delightful nephews and my adorable niece. I also enjoy fishing, boating, hiking, traveling, and watching football especially the MN Vikings!
