An IB World School

Diane Gibbs

Spanish Teacher

About Me

Hello! My name is Diane Gibbs and I teach Spanish at Bennett Elementary. This is my fourteenth year at Bennett, but I have six years of previous experience.  Before teaching at Bennett, I enjoyed teaching at the high school and middle school levels in California.  When I am not at work, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family.  My daughter is married and living in Montana.  My son is a recent graduate from the University of Wyoming, and is working here in town. We have a lot of fun when we are together!  I am originally from Huntington Beach, California.  There's salt water in my veins :) I miss living near the beach, but the mountains, rivers, and lakes of Colorado do something for my soul.

My Classroom

I strive to make learning a world language challenging, engaging, and relevant.  Spanish will continue to have a strong presence in the future of our world, so I take my job seriously.  And, also, I strive to be as ridiculous as possible. Learning another language does NOT have to be a chore or bore.  Just keep showing up, and great things will come from it.
