An IB World School

Wendy Woodland

Principal

When I am not at work I enjoy camping, hiking, swimming and waterskiing

I am originally from Illinois.

I am married and have three children. One is in elementary school, one is in middle school, and one is in high school.

One thing I am looking forward to this year is getting settled into a new community and learning about all of the fun activities in the area for me and my family to enjoy.

I was in the Peace Corps for two years as supporting teachers with teaching English in the Philippines. Then I taught for four years in Texas teaching 5th grade and one year teaching 4th grade in Maine. I was an assistant principal for two years and spent the last 14 years as a principal in Jeffco Public Schools.

I am passionate about all things education including creating an engaging, rigorous environment where students feel supported in trying hard things and feel proud of their accomplishments. I also feel strongly that we need to teach students and help them practice how to take care of themselves emotionally.

As a principal, I strive to nurture all stakeholders and support them in our efforts to make Bennett the best school possible!
